Terms and Conditions

REGISTRATION & RESERVATIONS

A deposit is required at the time of registration. The balance is payable 90 days prior to departure date.  If reservation is effected within 90 days of commencement of travel, the entire amount is to be submitted at time of confirmation.  All tour participants must complete, sign, and date a tour registration form to validate booking.  Reservations received within 30 days of departure date may be subject to a non-refundable rush-booking fee of no less than $25 per person to cover additional expenses incurred in expediting booking. Travelers making any payment by credit card agree that by signing the credit card authorization form, they agree to the terms and conditions in this brochure, and agree not to request any charge backs on the card until any disputed matters are resolved with American Travel Group. 
LAND ARRANGEMENTS INCLUDE:

Ø  Accommodations

Deluxe, first class and best available as indicated in each program, based on two persons sharing a room with private facilities as detailed.  Categories assigned to hotels are the opinions of the tour operator and are selected on location, among other criteria.  We reserve the right to substitute accommodations of similar category when necessary.

Ø  Meals

Indicated in all itineraries as follows: B=Breakfast,  L=Lunch,  D=Dinner.  Welcome receptions and farewell dinners as indicated.

Ø  Transfers

All airport/hotel transfers. Transfers take place when arriving and departing at all destinations on the scheduled dates or pre-arranged dates.

Ø  Taxes, Entrance Fees, and Gratuities

Hotel taxes and service charges as imposed by governments are included.  Entrance fees to National Parks, museums and places of interest are included. All gratuities (except for those to tour leaders, drivers, and escorts) are included.  Gratuities are left at the client’s discretion.  Airport departure taxes are not included.

Ø  Baggage Handling

The handling of one piece of baggage per person, 29” X 20”  X 20”, not to exceed 44 lbs.  On internal flights, up to 25 lbs of baggage is permitted on board, including carry-on luggage.  Baggage and personal effects are carried at the owner’s risk and passengers are cautioned against the risk of leaving them unattended.  Baggage insurance is strongly recommended.  Sightseeing and Transportation as specified in the itineraries. 
NOT INCLUDED IN LAND PRICE:International air transportation or any internal air, unless indicated.  International airfare is included in the air and land cost. Excess baggage charges as imposed by airlines. Forwarding of baggage and purchases. Passport and visa fees. Medical charges for inoculations. Items of a personal nature, such as laundry, beverages, and meals not included on programs, telephone/cable/fax charges. Baggage, trip cancellation, and personal insurance.  Airport taxes.  Gratuities to naturalist/guides/escorts, drivers/camp staff. 

TOUR PRICES

All tour prices are quoted in U.S. dollars.  The tour cost includes planning, handling, and all operational charges.  Prices are based on tariffs and exchange rates effective at the time of printing. In the event of a severe currency fluctuation or tariff increase, the cost is subject to adjustment.  Land prices are guaranteed, however, once American Travel Group receives a tour deposit. 
THE SINGLE TRAVELER

If you are traveling alone and wish to share accommodations, every effort will be made to find you a comparable roommate.  However, we cannot guarantee this arrangement and you will be responsible for payment of applicable single supplement.

 TRAVEL DOCUMENTSPassengers traveling outside the United States are required to carry proof of citizenship.  A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates is required for travel to Central American countries.  It is the Participant’s responsibility to obtain current entry requirements for your destination.  Passengers denied boarding or entry due to lack of proper documentation will not be entitled to a refund.  Passports are required for all passengers. 
OPTIONAL INSURANCEIt is strongly recommended that all participants protect themselves and their property against unforeseen circumstances both before and during their trip. 
USE OF PHOTOGRAPHYAmerican Travel Group reserves the right to take photographs during the operation of the tour and may use the same for  promotional purposes. By reserving a tour with ATG, the tour participants agree to allow their images to be used for the purpose stated. If you do not wish to allow your image to be used, advise the tour guide/escort at the commencement of the tour.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Full refund, minus a $100 per person handling charge and full air cost, if any will be made if cancellation is received in writing no fewer than 60 days prior to departure.  Thereafter, 59-31 days cancellation notice will have a $500.00 per person handling charge and full air cost if any deducted from refund. Within 30 days notice prior to tour commencement, we reserve the right to retain full payment. No refund can be made for any tour accommodations, tour service, or tour feature that you do not utilize.  If you cancel while the tour is in progress, no refunds will be made for unused portions.  American Travel Group must receive all claims for refunds in writing within 30 days from the date of the termination of the tour. American Travel Group accepts no liability for claims received more than 30 days after termination of the tour. 
AIR TRANSPORTATION RESPONSIBILITY & LIABILITY
Round-trip economy-class jet transportation via any IATA or ARC carrier can be arranged at additional cost on request.  Airlines and airline schedules are subject to change without prior notice, at the sole discretion of the issuing carriers.  Air Tax is additional.  The sole and exclusive responsibility and liability of any carrier used in these tours, shall be in accordance with and as limited by the contract of carriage in the passenger’s ticket, the applicable tariffs, and the provisions of the Warsaw Convention, if applicable.  Carrier used shall not be responsible or liable for any act, omission, or occurrences during the time passengers are not on board its airplanes. All tours, services, and transportation (other than air) are furnished by contractors that are independent and that do not act for or  on behalf of the carrier, nor are servants of the same, and neither do they have any business as joint ventures or otherwise.  Further, the carrier shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the accuracy of any representations of the tour operator and its agents on tours or tour services other than those contained in this catalogue. 
ALTERATIONS TO TOURS & ACCEPTANCEAmerican Travel Group, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to alter any route or other arrangements, offer substitutes, or to completely cancel the whole or any portion of a tour, should conditions necessitate.  The right is also reserved to decline the acceptance of any person as a member of a tour should the presence of that person be prejudicial to the good conduct of the tour, contrary to the prevailing laws of the country visited.
